About Me

Hi, my name is Ken Serwatowski and welcome to my blog. I am
pretty much a self taught home cook who loves all ethnic foods. The
extent of my formal training is a few cooking classes taught at
adult education level at two of Michigan’s community colleges. It
was actually my wife’s idea to start this blog. Family and friends
always make comments about how much I talk about food and how I get
way too excited when doing it. I’d also like to dedicate this site
and the love of food to my mom. Although she was widowed with nine
kids she was always able to put home cooked meals on the table. I
hope you enjoy what I’m guessing will be a very amateur site since
I have zero computer skills. I will however promise you great
original, modified, and family recipes for you to

  2. Wow, a chili cook off competitor is willing to share his recipe with his ex competition? LOL. I’d love it. Send it to me on facebook or my personal E mail I’m going to make it and the post it on here giving you credit even though I know you are being a smart—.

  3. Ken, talk to us about spices. How to keep them fresh, which ones are the best to cook with.
I have spices that are a baziilion years old, are they still good?

I am excited to see more Polish recipes in your upcoming blogs. What I have seen so far are wonderful!
    xxoo Cousin.

  4. Ken,
This is an amazing resource! I hope to keep up to date on all new cooking ideas and that we can get together soon to try out some recipes!
    Your cousin,

  5. I don’t know you, Ken, but I’m sure going to know your recipes. Browsed through the Polish recipes, so similar to my mom’s — but with nice variations. Looking forward to seeing everything you’ve posted. I’m Debbie Kleszcz’s (Ornato) much older sister. I can’t wait to try some of these. By the way, for not being very good on the computer, you’ve created a beautiful web site — easy to read and easy to navigate. Delores Ornato Meyers (Dee)
